GARDEN FLAT EXTENSION
Chiswick London

The Briefing
The property formed part of a four-storey semi-detached house within a conservation area in Chiswick, South West London. The existing one-bedroom garden flat felt enclosed and disconnected, with a fragmented layout that limited natural light and prevented the family from spending time together in a shared living space.
The Solution
We designed a contemporary glazed infill extension to the rear of the flat, creating a bright, open-plan kitchen and living area that seamlessly connects to the garden. Careful consideration was given to the conservation context, ensuring the intervention was elegant, lightweight, and respectful of the existing building.
We provided a complete design and construction service, guiding the project from concept through to delivery.
The Value Created
The reconfiguration transformed the property from a one-bedroom flat into a functional two-bedroom garden home. Beyond the additional bedroom, the project significantly enhanced spatial quality, daylight, and connection to the outdoors — increasing both the liveability and market value of the property while creating a space designed for the family to live in and enjoy.
